Sejarah PGSD FIP UNP

Bachelor Program Elementary School Teacher Education (BPESTE) is one of the majors in the Faculty of Education (FIP) at Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) which produces prospective elementary school teachers who are professional and have a noble character and have faith and devotion to God Almighty. The Department of Bachelor Elementary School Teacher Education (BPESTE) Faculty of Education Universitas Negeri Padang was originally an integration or transfer to UNP, which at that time was still called IKIP (Teaching and Educational Sciences Institute) Padang from three State Teacher Education Schools and State Sports Teacher Schools namely SPG Negeri 2 Padang, SGO Negeri Padang, and SPG Negeri Bukittinggi. This is stated in the Decree of the Minister of National Education Number: 0116/0/1991 concerning the Transfer of Teacher Education Schools and Sports Teacher Education Schools (SPG/SGO) to Bachelor Program Elementary School Teacher Education (BPESTE), as well as Operational Permits from the Directorate General of Higher Education. After that, BESTE Faculty of Education UNP still had a curriculum for the Diploma two (D-II) program. In subsequent developments, the PGSD FIP UNP Department obtained a permit or mandate to organize an educational Bachelor (S-1) program. The BESTE Department with the bachelor program was established on September 1, 2006, with the Decree No. 2422/D/T/K-N/2010 using the 2006 BPESTE curriculum. In the next stage, the BESTE Faculty of Education Universitas Negeri Padang revised the curriculum by revising it several times, namely in 2011, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Next, the BESTE Department Faculty of Education UNP Undergraduate Department has ‘A’ accreditation starting from December 5, 2017, to December 5, 2022. BPESTE Department has three locations, namely at UPP 1 (Air Tawar Campus), UPP III (Bandar Buat Campus), and UPP IV (Bukittinggi Campus).
